RANGSIMA LOLEKHA, MD – U.S. CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION, THAILAND OFFICE Dr. Rangsima Lolekha received her MD and Pediatric Infectious Diseases specialty training from Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand. She has worked with Division of Global HIV and TB Program (DGHT) Thailand/Asia Regional Office, U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Thailand Office since 2004. She is Chief of HIV Prevention and Care among Children, Adolescents, and Family Section. Dr. Rangsima actively participated in the process of elimination of mother-to-child transmission (EMTCT) of HIV and syphilis validation in Thailand. She served as a panel member of WHO regional validation team for the EMTCT validation of HIV and syphilis in Malaysia in 2018. Dr. Rangsima received Kellie Elizabeth Lartigue-Ndiaye Humanitarian Award from DGHT, U.S. CDC in 2016 Title: Elimination of Mother-to-Child Transmission of Syphilis: The Thailand Experience In June 2016, Thailand became the first country in Asia to validate the elimination of mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) of HIV and syphilis by meeting World Health Organization (WHO) targets. Thailand’s experience on elimination of MTCT validation, prevention of MTCT of syphilis interventions, outcomes, factors that contributed to success, and challenges that remain will be presented in this session.
