J. DENNIS FORTENBERRY, MD, MS – INDIANA UNIVERSITY Dr. Fortenberry is Director of the Division of Adolescent Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at Indiana University School of Medicine. His research program focuses on adolescent sexuality and sexual health. He is the current president of the American Sexually Transmitted Diseases Association Title: A Sexual Well-being Framework for Addressing STI Treatment and Prevention The essence of work with sexually transmitted infections is found in the personal, social, and cultural spaces of sexuality, intertwined with experiences of recurrent trauma associated with poverty, sexual identity, gender identity, immigration, and ethnicity. This talk introduces a framework for sexual wellbeing that incorporates a meaningful approach to trauma experiences of people at risk for sexually transmitted infections.
